Beautiful.ai alternative

Skiaw — the Beautiful.ai alternative for decks that don't look AI-generated

Beautiful.ai gives you 300+ Smart Slide layouts to build with by hand. Skiaw writes and designs the whole deck from a prompt, so there's no layout to pick in the first place.

  • Whole deck generated from one prompt, not assembled slide by slide
  • Figures carry a source tag that resolves on the slide
  • Conversational edits cost no credits

Same prompt, two starting points

One tool hands you a finished deck; the other hands you a well-behaved canvas to build one on. See the difference at the moment each tool finishes its part.

Where the two actually diverge

Four differences that a table row is too small to explain properly.

01

A better canvas versus a finished deck

Beautiful.ai's central idea is the Smart Slide: pick a layout, add content, and the slide re-balances itself so it never ends up crooked. There are more than 300 of them, and it's a genuinely good answer to the problem of a person building slides by hand — you stay in the driving seat the whole time.

Skiaw starts one step earlier. Describe the deck, and the engine researches it, writes the argument, chooses the structure and designs every slide before you see anything. You then refine it in conversation rather than by picking layouts.

The honest version of 'why switch': if you enjoy building the deck and just want the tool to stop it looking amateur, Beautiful.ai already does that well. If the deck itself is the chore standing between you and the meeting, that's the gap switching closes.

02

What switching away from Beautiful.ai actually costs you

This is the one to read before switching, not after. Beautiful.ai's Team plan has real-time collaborative editing, a centralised slide and template library, shared assets and version control; Enterprise adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs and a stated SOC 2 Type II, CCPA, PCI and GDPR posture. Skiaw has none of that today.

If several people build one deck at once, or procurement runs a formal security review, Beautiful.ai answers questions Skiaw currently can't. That's not a footnote — for a collaborative team, it can be the deciding factor on its own.

Where Beautiful.ai is the better choice

We built Skiaw and we would still send you elsewhere for these. If one of them is your requirement, Beautiful.ai is the better buy today.

  • Real-time collaborative editing, a shared slide library and version control — Skiaw has none of these.
  • Smart Slides keep a deck tidy while a human keeps editing it, a better fit if you like building slides yourself.
  • Viewer analytics and engagement tracking on Pro and Team; Skiaw offers no analytics at all.
  • Live data linking into charts on the Team plan.
  • Enterprise readiness: SSO, SCIM, audit logs and a stated SOC 2 Type II, CCPA, PCI and GDPR posture. Skiaw has no attestation today.
  • Unlimited AI generation on paid plans rather than a monthly credit allowance.
  • You can buy Beautiful.ai right now; Skiaw's subscriptions are still opening.

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask before switching between Beautiful.ai and Skiaw.

Can I bring my existing Beautiful.ai decks into Skiaw?

Not as a direct import. You can attach a Beautiful.ai deck exported as .pptx when you generate in Skiaw, and it will read the content as a source document — but Skiaw builds a new deck from that brief rather than reformatting your existing Smart Slides.

Why switch if Beautiful.ai already tidies my slides automatically?

Smart Slides solve a different problem — they keep a deck you're building by hand from looking crooked. They don't research the topic, write the argument, or design the deck for you. If you're still doing the writing and structuring yourself, that's the work switching removes.

Is Skiaw cheaper than Beautiful.ai?

For a single person, no — Beautiful.ai's Pro plan is $12/month billed annually versus Skiaw's $20/month ($16 billed yearly). Skiaw's plan includes research and sourced figures Beautiful.ai doesn't document. For teams, compare per-seat: Beautiful.ai's Team plan is $40/user/month annually against Skiaw's $49/month for two seats plus $20 per extra seat.

What do I lose by switching away from Beautiful.ai?

Real-time collaborative editing, a shared slide and template library with version control, viewer analytics, live data linking, and — on Enterprise — SSO, SCIM, audit logs and a stated SOC 2 Type II, CCPA, PCI and GDPR posture. Skiaw does not replace any of that today.

Does Skiaw research the topic the way Beautiful.ai's 'Create with AI' does?

The two work differently. Beautiful.ai's 'Create with AI' builds slides from the prompt, outline or document you supply — the content comes from you. Skiaw searches the web and reads any documents you attach before writing, and every figure carries a source tag shown on the slide, so it can add material you didn't already have.

How long does switching actually take?

There's no migration step. Skiaw generates a full deck from a prompt, optionally grounded in documents you attach, so switching is running your first prompt rather than moving existing slides over. Revisions after that are conversational and free.
